Our client, based in Exeter is looking to expand their IT sales team by recruiting a Field Sales Consultant. Candidates will be ideally placed in Bristol or Cardiff to cover a designated territory and will work remotely with occasional visits to the office.
This is a technical sales role that represents the first step in the sales cycle whether onboarding new customers or developing existing relationships. The Consultant is expected to deliver against the business strategy leveraging all available product sets across all departments.
The Field Sales Consultant is required to apply both sales and technical knowledge from developing opportunities through to completion of the sale. Although they will require some support from other technical members of staff, they are expected to have a general technical understanding of the solutions that they are providing and can successfully articulate the benefits.
It is essential that the Sales Consultant keeps up to date with the latest technologies and maintains technical sales qualifications. Successful candidates should have a good knowledge of the IT industry, being able to offer technical solutions based on customer requirements without the need for a member of the technical team joining them on all client meetings.
The role is client-facing and not telesales, therefore candidates must have field sales experience. They are expected to develop business from leads but not to cold call.
Salary: £36k-£40k, dependent on experience (OTE 53k – £57k uncapped)
There is a six month probationary period.
